Take a class on-line
You can now take a class on-line at home, your office, anyplace you have access to a computer. To receive a student certificate you will need to come into one of our office locations and complete a skills test on what you've learned on-line. The skills testing is scheduled for 3 hours, but may be less based upon the class you have taken. You must pass the skills test to receive a certification. The following classes are available on-line:
- CPR - Adult/Child/Infant: Train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants.
- Standard First Aid w/ CPR - Adult/Child/Infant: Train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants. Provide the lay responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives

- CPR/AED - Adult: Train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, including the use of an automated external defibrillator(AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
- CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer: To teach professional rescuers(those with a duty to act and provide care) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies, including the use of an automated external defibrillator(AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. NEW! This course now issues a TWO year certifiaction.
- Standard First Aid w/ CPR/AED - Adult,Child plus Infant: To give individuals in the workplace the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.
- Pandemic Preparedness: Pandemic Flu Public Information Series Courses Pandemic Flu: Are You Prepared Presentation (HSCAR102) The purpose of this presentation is to provide participants with the knowledge to prepare for a flu pandemic and to help protect themselves and others from getting the flu during a flu pandemic.
Babysitter’s Training
(Updated) – The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter’s
Training course is to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the
knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business; keep themselves and others safe; help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid.
This training is designed for youths ages 11 – 15. This course does NOT meet the state requirement to run a daycare.
Length – 6 hours 30 minutesBabysitter’s Training PlusThis is a two day course that includes basic Babysitter’s Training plus Infant and Child CPR and more comprehensive First Aid. The participant will leave with certificates for Babysitter’s Training, Infant and Child CPR and Standard First Aid.
This training is designed for youths ages 11 – 15. This course does NOT meet the state requirement to run a daycare.
Length – 12 hours 35 minutes
Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT)
The Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) Class is intended to introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross, prepare the candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty Classs to diverse populations and to introduce the candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross. The FIT Class will ensure Class consistency, quality and appropriate reporting. This training is designed for ages 16 and older. An instructor candidate must complete an instructor specialty Class within one year of completing Fundamentals of Instructor Training.
Class Length: 5 hours
Prerequisites: NONE
Lay responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor To train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED classes for lay responders. Class Length: 16 hours Prerequisites:
- Minimum age of 16
- Possess a Fundamentals of Instructor Training certificate (Certificate 3007) issued within the last year or National Health and Safety Instructor authorization (F5736 or Certificate 3005)
- Pass a pre-class written exam with a score of 80 percent or higher on each component and successfully demonstrating competency in the skills evaluation in accordance with the established skill standards.
Volunteer Orientation
A prerequisite Class for volunteers and staff that gives the history of Red Cross, services and structure and a broad understanding of the Red Cross locally, nationally and internationally. Since this is offered on our new Learning Management System(LMS) it is necessary that you self register for the class by clicking on the link below. Then click on the self-register option on the left-side tool bar. Keep your Student ID and Password as it will be necessary to register for all future ARC Classs.

Sports Injury Prevention and First Aid with CPR/AED Adult & Child
To provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe environment to adult athletes who are participating in sports and, in an emergency, to help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injuries and illness until medical help arrives.

Special Projects
The Red Cross offers many classes in First Aid, CPR, Water Safety, and Small Craft safety which are not offered on a monthly basis, but on a 'demand' basis throughtout the year. These classes can be viewed by clicking the class listing below and going thur the calendar.
