Aquatic Training/ Swimming Program
 
 
The Western Branch Office offers a  year-round Learn to Swim program operated out of  Mary Jo Peckham Park  Pool in Katy, TX.   Swim tests by a certified Water Safety Instructor are available to determine a child's correct level of instruction. Registration is conducted directly at the pool for swimming lessons.

Volunteering

Volunteers are the heart of the Western Branch office, and serve in many capacities.
  • Direct Services, such as Disaster Relief
  • Teach CPR/First Aid/ Babysitting Classes
  • Assist at Health Fairs and special projects such as the 2007 Christmas Angel Program
  • Work directy with clients in our unique Food Pantry program
  • Provide vital support for office functions
  • Serve on volunteer committees

All volunteers complete an application, background check, and orientation before assignment. Some volunteer positions may require further specific training.  Please call the Western Branch directly so we can match you with an opportunity "to make a difference!"

 
Western Branch Good News
Red Cross volunteer Pauline Noble received the Chapter’s highest form of volunteer recognition, The Sally Bossung Award. The award recognizes exceptional performance, personal commitment, leadership, cooperation, and specific action.
 
 
Pauline Noble receives the 2009 Sally Bossung Award at the Greater Houston Red Cross Volunteer Recognition from Channel 11 Weatherman Gene Norman who served as Guest Speaker and MC for the event.
